About The Authors

 

Carolyn M. Vella and John J. McGonagle have been involved with pedigreed cats since 1982. They own Jacat Cattery which bred and exhibited Japanese Bobtail Cats throughout the US and Canada. They are retired cat show judges for the American Cat Fanciers Association, Inc. and are guest judges for Assolux, a Russian cat federation.

 

    

 

In addition to managing their own breeding program, they have assisted many other breeders in delivering and caring for their kittens. Carolyn and John are co-authors of Burmese Cats (Barron’s Educational Series, Inc., 1995), Multiple-Cat Households (TFH, 2000), Robinson’s Genetics for Cat Breeders and Veterinarians (4th Edition, 1999, Butterworth-Heinemann), Breeding Pedigreed Cats (Howell Book House, 1997), Burmese Cats (Barron’s Educational Series, Inc., 1995), and In The Spotlight: A Guide To Showing Pedigreed And Household Pet Cats  (Howell Book House, 1990), They have written dozens of articles and columns for cat-related publications in the US and abroad, and are award-winning professional members of the Cat Writers’ Association.
